A fortnightly garden waste collection service is offered to subscribers using a wheeled bin or compostable garden sacks. Garden waste collection days are listed on the calendar above. For more information, or to request a replacement garden waste bin, click here or call 01935 462462.

News: There is a new solution to try for materials that need to be taken to the tip. Larry, our local seasonal scyther, is offering a pickup service for a small contribution. As Larry's car is low emissions he would like to save others the journey and help declutter and recycle. Each week will be a different category of recycling—metal, glass, or small electrical, etc. This may suit those with a small amount of waste, and saves on journeys and time. Larry will aim to do the recycling on Tuesdays, mid morning, with flexibility to change for bad weather. Anyone wanting something collected should phone or email and await confirmation.

Dumping of Garden Waste: Please do not dump garden waste in the field next to Taylors Orchard or the East Street Field. These fields are used regularly for grazing Dexter cows who can be caused harm by grass cuttings and hedge clippings, which often contain cow toxins such as yew and certain weeds. Waste is also landing on the electronic fence and causing the fence to short out, and this may lead to livestock escaping. SSDC provide a green waste collection or disposal service, and the recycling facilities in Yeovil and Crewkerne are open, so please dispose of waste properly.
